Social Skills 101 is a 6-session program from Mylemarks designed to teach kids all about social skills! This fun and interactive program teaches your child the importance of positive social interactions and gives them an opportunity to practice these skills with peers!

Curriculum Outline
Session 1: Intro to Social Skills
Participants will learn about the importance of social skills in their interactions with others. They will learn the difference between Good and Poor social skills and share personal examples. Also discussed: age appropriate behaviors, setting-appropriate social skills
Session 2: Social Clues
Participants will learn about reading and interpreting social cues including facial expression, body language, personal space, and voice tone and volume.
Session 3: Talking and Listening
Participants will learn about the necessary skills to start, maintain, and end a conversation with others. Also discussed: coping with social anxiety
Session 4: Interacting with Others
Participants will learn about how to make and keep friends. They will learn about working with others as part of a team. Also discussed: peer pressure, sportsmanship, dealing with rejection
Session 5: Handling Conflict
Participants will learn about handling frustrations and anger in a healthy and positive manner as to not damage relationships. They will learn to effectively express their feelings using assertiveness skills to resolve conflict. Also discussed: forms of communication, anger triggers and coping skills
Session 6: Improving Social Skills
Participants will learn review material learned over the course of the program. They will determine goals for themselves moving forward and learn additional techniques to improve their social skills.
Participants will also be provided with activities and exercises to complete and have ready for review the following session.
